Description:
With ebony hair that drops down to her waist and quiet, intelligent eyes, Hitomi Akiyama gives off the impression of a reliable person, and meets those expectations. Currently disguised as a student in Karakura, Hitomi is more often than not seen wearing the standard high school uniform adorned with a red armband she wears just below her right shoulder. Outside of school and interacting with the public, Hitomi will be dressed in the outfit pictured above. In the event of a matter requiring a Shingami's attention, she wears the standard black Shinigami uniform.
Personality: Cool, collected, and always in control, Hitomi Akiyama is a shinigami who never fails to look like a professional at anything she does, even if she isn't any good at it. Very consistent and dedicated to her job, Hitomi appears to be a model student, never arriving to class late and always scoring within the top percentage of her class. It is for that reason that the patrolwoman is the student council president, and respected by many of her peers. Her apartment that she rents out herself and affords through a part-time bakery job is clean and orderly, and hardly seems as though anybody actually inhabits it.
She is well trained in the four shinigami disciplines of Kido, Hakuda, Hoho, and Zanjutsu, showing no particular preferences for one or the other. It is that versatility that allows Hitomi to fight with an array of tactics, generally giving her the capability to dispatch hollow that threaten the local populace of Karakura. In the face of enemies the patrolwoman more often than not will maintain a sense of calm focus, hardly falling victim to any sort of hubris and isn't above more unconventional tactics in order to complete her objectives. Used to working by herself, Hitomi isn't as effective when teamed up with others, and often attempts to rush ahead of her teammates in order to complete the objective before they arrive. This is normally a futile and unsuccessful venture.
Overwhelmingly honest and straight-forward, Hitomi might be said to be incapable of telling a lie. When confronted by others about her identity as a Shinigami, Hitomi is the sort to fall into silence, hoping the topic of conversation changes before she's forced to break protocol. Despite her own honest demeanor, the patrolwoman is very adept at picking out falsehoods, a trait of hers that has saved her life more often than she'd care to admit.
History: The daughter of an up and coming noble family, Hitomi was trained from an early age to be all that she is today. The concepts of respect, dedication, and hard work were grilled into her mind, and not a single teaching goes unheeded to this very day. Entering the Shinigami Training Academy with high marks and placed in the advanced class, Hitomi consistently wowed her instructors by placing top of her class in almost every subject.
When the time came for Hitomi to be graduated and selected to be placed into a squad, she instead elected to be placed into a patrol unit, as she was curious about the outside world. Ever since then, she'd been operating in the human world as a variety of things, the most recent disguise being that of a student. On occasion does she return to Seireitei in order to give reports about the status of the outside world, but for the most part she remains undisturbed, and quietly monitors her sector in case of hollow attack.
