Since there aren't any actual rules in regards to this, the question has been brought up as to how we'll deal with changing our character's races. An example of such is how a character would go from being a Shinigami to a Vizard, or a Human Character going from Human to Hollow or Shinigami. Following the rather.. loose logic from the series itself may lead to some confusion, so it might be better that we come up with a few rules in regards to how this can be done. Please post suggestions or ideas in this thread.

My internet is crap and all the stuff I typed up is gone... So, this post will be the extremelly short, bulleted version. - Shinigami -> Vizard: Leave to Judge for now. He's got something pretty decent coming along. ^^
- Human -> Hollow: See Bleach wiki on hollows. Basically, after becoming a plus, RP a few threads of transformation and events happening.
- Hollow "rank up": Eat alot of hollows, will work on specifics. For Gillian to Adjuchas, one of the hollows' personalities needs to be dominant over the others, if I remember correctly.
- Human -> Shinigami: After becoming pluse and going to Soul Society, go to academy and pass. Tests and whatnot, I have no clue about at the moment.
- Hollow -> Arrancar: Mask gets torn off somehow, will work on specifics later. Probably just a post requirement with staff permission to do this? Not sure.

As far as the change going from a Shinigami -> Vizard (Visored) I think that it can happen in two ways. (possibly more if a new way can be thought of)
The first way is by dying then gaining the powers of a Shinigami as your hollow is taking over. then you must eventually fight and tame your inner hollow later on. (like Ichigo did)
The second is to be taken over by your inner hollow (from being in a weakened state) and then fighting him internally and when you beat him you become a Vizard. (like all of the other Vizards did after being effected by the Hogyoku)
Like I said these are just two ways that I know of from watching the show, so if someone comes along with a new idea please feel free to share that with the site. :]

This is something that is more varied by character, so if we make any rules in regards to this, I want them to remain lenient to allow for player creativity to take the stage, rather than a restrictive ordeal, as no two people are the same, nor should their change into another race be carbon copies of anyone elses'. I do recognize the need for rules though, we DO NOT want a bunch of Overpowered Mary or Marty-Sue's running around wrecking everything because nothing can stop them, but I digress.
An example being the transformation between Shinigami and Vizard. Since we've only observed two methods of transformation in the series (Ichigo, who's kind of a base breaker for every piece of logic this series has. And the exiled soul reapers who were eschewed by Aizenhax.) A more linear thinking person would likely want to follow through with one of those two methods in order to become a Vizard. From past experiences with role-playing, I have seen there honestly is very little way to replicate either method without a huge amount of bullshitting. It's possible, but the set-up is long, we don't have an Aizen, and frankly, it's uncreative. We should allow for a little.. creativity to do it. Sorry if I am not being too articulate, just say something if clarification is required.
The only examples we've seen of humans becoming Hollows are fairly consistant in content. The human dies, they become a plus, they either somehow don't get saved by a Shinigami, or a Hollow interferes with their... undead "living".
As such with Shinigami, we haven't seen any humans become Shinigami, except ONCE AGAIN, Ichigo. I take it the process is relatively simple though. The human character would die and end up in Soul Society after a shinigami successfully uses Konso on their plus. The character somehow gets into the Seireitei, and begins academy training. The problem I see with this is that we haven't seen any humans with special abilities become Shinigami. For example, if I killed Orihime in the next five minutes, and Ichigo came along and used Konso on her. Would she maintain her ability to utilize the Shun Shun Rika? This is something to discuss. (Honestly, I'd probably incorporate that power until the Zanpakuto that she'd receive, but that this is a discussion.)
As for exponential growths in power as a Hollow. We've seen that Hollow are compelled by instinct to assimilate as much soul matter as possible, be it Pluses or weaker Hollow. I take it that if someone had a Hollow character, in order to get more powerful, they'd have to eat a certain amount of Pluses, or other Hollow. Personally, I'd have Hollow be worth more... for lack of a better word "Soul Juice" than Pluses are, as they are likely more difficult prey. When the Hollow character eventually absorbs enough... "Soul Juice" they become a more powerful variety of Hollow, until they either become an Arrancar, or class up to the natural pinnacle of Hollow, which is the Vastro Lorde class.
Either way, this will require more research, and certainly a lot more discussion.

Well, it's hard to get some sort of concrete "It should be done this way" type of format, but I think it'd be good to have a required post count for at least the stronger changes. (ie. Shinigami to Vizard, and Hollow/Vasto Lorde to Arrancar)
Also, I think it'd be easier to go with what we know, and then edit it or something to match a canon-less Bleach site better. Like, for a plus to hollow, just a thread or two RPing out becoming a hollow would be the requirement. So that way, the RPer has their own creative freedom as to what and how it happens. XP
I think the academy thing should be similar to how we're thinking up the bankai thing. Like __ number of posts/words/threads in the academy, or as a graduation test, and then a staff member decides if it's pass or fail. Something like that.
For Hollow rank ups I'm not sure how to do it, since it's based on the number of souls eaten in the show. We could always have staff play random npc hollows/pluses, and after you eat __ number of souls you rank up? Dunno, really. XP
Anyway, that's all the ideas I have at the moment. ><

My suggestions.... of justice.
Plus to Hollow: Minimum of 1 thread of RPing to become a Hollow. No less than 5 posts.
Academy: Two IRL weeks of being in the academy. Staff member gives a basic Bleach Trivia Quiz at the end. (Most people will use the wiki to answer questions. Don't prohibit that, just let 'em.) Student passes if most of the answers are correct.
Hollow Rank Up: Thread of Hollow character eating stuff. Has to eat ___ Number of souls.
