On another regular day, the captain of squad 7 comes out to the Sokyoku hill to enjoy one of the few days he is able to rest. Though is he is resting and enjoying a cup of herbal tea, he makes sure to look as elegant as he can. The way he lifts the cup, his posture, and so on.
The captain gently places the cup aside on the small table he brought with him. An wide range of gravings were carved into it. It's color was a near eggshell with a bit of gloss. Not only the table, but the cup and the plate it rested on had similar appearances.
However, the Head Kuchiki wasn't really here to rest. Given the way the hollows had been acting, he deduced that war would soon be brought on and he wanted to test the strength of one lieutenant, Hitomi Akiyama. The vice of squad 3. A strong young woman with a zanpakotu that didn't so much intrigue the captain, since he's only seen it a few times, but rather something he wanted to try a hand at fighting.
The captains rarely dealt with elemental zanpakuto's or arrancars.
He also felt he could use a good sparing match, and who better then Akiyama-san?

On an otherwise peaceful day, a summons comes to the Squad 3 barracks asking for their lieutenant to meet the current head of the Kuchiki family for a sparring match. Normally the members of Squad 3 reject such summons due to them being a squad that hasn't ever been well-suited for straight battles, but their lieutenant, Hitomi Akiyama is a tad different from the normally very mischievous and unorthodox members of that squad. It has always been a wonder among the squads why someone as honorable and well-liked as Hitomi would ever fit in with Squad 3, but she is as much beloved there as she is everywhere else.
It is around midday when the Lieutenant emerges from her barracks with the intention to meet the captain for the sparring match, she has no idea why he would do battle against her as opposed to one of the captains that are actually on his level, but due to being requested by name she could not refuse this summons. Her long ebony hair blows slightly in the wind when she steps outside, flowing out behind her as her blue eyes gaze upon a hell butterfly that lands upon her shoulder. "Captain Kuchiki is waiting at Sokyoku Hill. Do not be late." Having delivered it's message, the butterfly then flies away, leaving Hitomi to watch it for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and beginning her journey toward the hill.
It isn't very long after that when the lieutenant arrives at the grassy hill to see the captain sitting there enjoying a cup of tea at a table he obviously had brought there himself. "Hitomi Akiyama of Squad 3 answering the summons of Captain Kuchiki!" The lieutenant said smartly, saluting as she speaks. "I understand that the Lord Kuchiki had asked for me to participate in a sparring exercise with him? I am honored to be considered for this opportunity, Captain." She says with a bow in order to be respectful.

The Lieutenant soon makes her arrival known as she states her name and salutes the captain. He tells the captain that she is honored to spar with him and bows. Reza continues gazing at her with his relaxed eyes. He picks up the small table and chair, along with the cup and plate, and puts them far aside.
He then shunpo's to where he stands in front of the young woman. The multiple tassels on his clothes blowing in the wind. "You are a woman whom I've come to respect, Hitomi-san. I've heard a few things and was impressed. AS you know, by the way the hollows have been acting, it seems we may be going into war. I would like to push someone, someone like you to their limit and help strengthen you, while at the same time improving myself."
He turns away from her and begins walking away to the point that he is yards away. He continues gazing as he raises his hand over the the grasp of his sword. "Let us begin, Hitomi Akiyama"

"Very well then Lord Captain, I shall give it my best!" The lieutenant says in an excited manner while drawing her sword. "Show me the power of the Kuchiki Family." The lieutenant's sword flashes in the light as she brandishes it several times before moving into a one-handed sword stance. The lieutenant watches the Kuchiki Captain through steady eyes as she looks for any openings in his fighting stance. Hitomi is well aware of Reza Kuchiki's status as the laser king, and is very keen to not allow him to wave his blade around in excess. The lieutenant suddenly utilizes a series of flash steps to close the distance between herself and the captain, bringing her blade vertically down upon him when she reaches his flank. Fully expecting him to avoid this attack, Hitomi will cancel her attack mid-way and switch her sword to the other hand by means of dropping it.
"There." The calm lieutenant says as she flash steps directly behind the captain while grabbing her sword and swinging it horizontally this time. If and when this attack does not succeed, Hitomi will immediately issue her rebuttal to Captain Kuchiki's counter-attack by utilizing the Enkosen technique to create a shield that will block his attack, and then flash step backwards to gain a little distance.

She isn't rushing in, good. I'm sure she is well aware of how I fight so it seems she's looking for an opening, though she'll have a hard time finding one. The captain ponders as his eyes jot around while she shunpos and then grabs his blade and pulls out 3/4ths of it to block her slash. She stops and switches hands and drops her sword.
She fights just like the wind.. he thinks as he fully pulls out his blade and spins it to where he holds it backwards. He shifts his arm behind him and cancels her assault, still standing in the same place.
He grabs the hilt of the blade with three fingers and thrusts it backwards releasing a small wave of red spiritual pressure, moving one leg to angle himself better. By no surprise, he hits Enkosen. The blast of spirit energy breaks through the Bakudo and continues after Akiyama. As it chases her, it moves closer and closer to the ground. Before upon reaching her, it skids across the earth creating a large dust cloud and then dies out shortly before reaching her.
Reza then turns around while the smoke still captivates Hitomi's vision, considering she is still within it. Even if she isn't Reza would continue with using Hainawa to hold her or make her evade where he wants her to. Which would happen, The Kuchiki would appear behind her and hold his blade over her shoulder with the sharp side angled towards her. He would then shunpo back a few yards. And wait to see what she would do next.

As expected, the captain Kuchiki is able to defend himself against her initial attack. As planned, Hitomi switches hands and offers another attack, to which he shifts his arm around and defends against by grabbing her sword and shifting it backwards with a slight amount of spiritual pressure. Hitomi then creates the Enkosen barrier that blocks the initial wave of spiritual pressure, however the strength of it shattered her shield, and heads straight towards her. Luckily, she had planned for that exactly, and flash stepped backwards to avoid this attack.
As expected, the Kuchiki's fighting style is so well-polished that he has very few openings. However.... he's finally made his first mistake. Thought Hitomi as a small screen of smoke begins to obscure her vision. The lieutenant retains her calm as she sheathes her blade, clutching the suka of her blade tightly in preparation for a sudden attack. When a shock of Kido comes into her vision, obviously a decoy attack, Hitomi drives her saya backward, fully intending to strike the over-arrogant captain with the kojiri, and swaying her body to the side to avoid his oncoming attack. The only other thing to avoid at this point is the Hainawa, which Hitomi casually sidesteps to allow it to crash into the captain if he so chooses to allow it to continue.
"Please don't insult me captain. Captain Sairou would be very disappointed in me if I were not able to pick out your form through a light screen of smoke. Such a battle tactic is the core of Squad Three's unit tactics to begin with." The lieutenant says as she performs a small skip to the captain's side and unleashes an extremely quick series of iaido slashes. Knowing that the captain has a contingency to avoid this method of attack, Hitomi will sheath her sword quickly and begin a series of hakuda attacks, mostly utilizing the grace of her martial arts style to send an array of kicks toward the captain, fully intending to catch him off guard by staying too close for him to slash her properly.

As figured, the lieutenant easily saw through his scheme. Reza canceled his Bakudo with a strong slash. He was pleased that she wasn't that weak.
When Hitomi charged at him and delivered a series of slashes with her sword, the captain blocked them all. The woman then seemed to switch to use martial arts, sending a flurry of kicks his way. He blocked and dodged them, stepping back every so often.
"You underestimate me too much," he states as he pulls his free right hand back and charges spiritual energy. At the same time, one of her kicks makes contact with his chest. He immediately grabs that foot with his right arm and fire Sokatsui. "Hado 33: Sôkatsui "

Or he at least thinks he grabbed hold of her foot, but it would seem the Kuchiki captain has a fondness for blasting sandals with his kido. Just before the spell would have made impact, Hitomi appears behind the captain and delivers an elbow strike directly toward his neck. "This is the entire purpose of Hakuda, captain." Hitomi will say whether the attack succeeds or not. Now with momentum on her side, Hitomi continues to press the attack by starting off with a series of sweeping kicks, finally culminating in an aerial roundhouse that ties into a horizontal slash with her iaido-drawn sword.
"Please refrain from using deadly Kido in a sparring competition Captain, if I were to become too injured as a result of this, I cannot participate in the mission the Captain Commander had given me." The lieutenant says smartly as she performs a series of flash steps to retrieve her discarded sandal and then put it back on. "Shall we continue?" The lieutenant says, pulling her sword up beside her in a showy fashion to demonstrate slight frustration with the captain's antics thus far.

The captain easily dodges her swipe to the back of his neck and appears behind her, she continues with her assault, the captain blocking all strikes and parrying her last one.
"Level 30's hado are something anyone with your ranking should be able to handle, and you've proved you can, so I see no issue in using such techniques. But if it was what you wish then so be it," he tells her as she retrieves her sandal.
Kuchiki catches eye of her frustration and decides to further push it to see if she will lose it or not. The captain sheathes his sword and shunpos right above the lieutenants head, then shunpos behind her and swings his sword, but before she would attempt to block or move, the captain would shunpo in front of her and do the same thing, then to her left, after so he would back of. If she attempted anything while he was doing this, he would pull out from his attempts immediately and continue to gaze at lieutenant.

Hitomi nods upon hearing the captain's excuse about using Kido, one that doesn't make sense as the strength of a Kido is always based upon the skill and power of the user. Someone like a captain who has untold reserves of reiatsu can utterly decimate an entire field with relatively low-ranked kido if they so chose to. But regardless the lieutenant remains calm, professional, and above all else respectful as she bows, and then watches as the captain begins his assault.
He begins with a shunpo, to which Hitomi immediately moves as if she were going to block, but when he cancels that attack midway and shunpos again in front of her, she realizes that he's attempting to bluff his way into a reasonable attack. This is the skill and power of a captain. To so easily toy with me as if I were nothing more than a mere academy graduate... The somewhat awe-struck lieutenant thought as she calmly watches and waits for the captain to end his assault.
Whenever he finishes, Hitomi will respond with a single diagonal slash designed to force him to avoid it, stepping inwards as the captain would do so and responding with a horizontal slash before he would be able to land back onto the ground. Knowing this sort of basic strategy does not work on someone who is faster than you, Hitomi ends this series of attacks with a sweep of her leg toward the back of his knee, attempting to throw him off balance so that she can actually hit him.

Reza jumped back to dodge her attack and then swiftly parried her next move. She then sends a kick to the back of his knee, he dodges by jumping upward, and then dashes down back to her, sword drawn, with a sideways slash that would force her to draw her own to block. The force from the attack would inevitably push her back.

With her previous set of techniques deftly avoided by the superior skill and talent of the Kuchiki Captain, Hitomi begins to slightly lose faith in her own skills as a lieutenant. A half-hearted series of acrobatic steps proves adequate to avoid the captain's next attack, which would technically allow the lieutenant to continue a series of attacks that would likely succeed, had she the morale to continue with that sort of attack. "There... is there really a reason he even decided to take me for this sort of thing?" The lieutenant asks while stepping backward a little to gain an amount of distance from her opponent.
"It must be rather dull to engage in a match against a person who cannot hope to hold a candle to you." There isn't any particular zest left in the lieutenant's form, her face even loses it's prior enthusiasm as she then begins to perform a half-hearted series of attacks with her sword, not really intending to hit the captain, but at least to throw something at him so that she wouldn't disrespect his request to fight her.
Whatever, the faster the captain defeats her, the faster she can go back to her duties.

Sairou had heard the commotion of the fighting while walking around the Seireitei. He had ignored it until he thought he heard his own name in the midst of the fighting. Curious, he used Bakudo 26: Kyokko to hide himself as he moved closer to see who was fighting, noticing his own lieutenant sparring against the captain of squad 7. "Well, isn't this interesting..." the captain thought with a small grin, watching his lieutenant spar with the captain. He sat and watched in silence, cheering his lieutenant on during the match.
Not long after, he noticed Akiyama's morale lowering from the fight, so he decided to do something about it. "What's wrong with you Akiyama!? If you don't intend to beat the guy up, then run away!! Squad 3 doesn't do anything halfheartedly so get your butt in gear or you'll have to do lots of paperwork!!" The captain called out as he cancelled the kido and revealed himself, giving a thumbs up with a smirk.

The captain stood idely by watching the captain of squad 3 trying to encourage his assisstant. When he finished, Reza made a slash with his sword to his side, creating a gust of wind to lift up the dirt in the air."Come at me, Hitomi, with all you have."

"... When did he...?" The sudden appearance of Katagami Sairou manages to surprise the female lieutenant, who turns to face him as he lectures (and threatens) her about the match. The smirk he gives alongside the thumbs up manages to have an effect on her morale, restoring the calm smile to her face as she turns once more to face her opponent and ready her stance. The Kuchiki Captain seems to be willing to continue as well, displaying a show of his power as he commands Hitomi to attack him with all her strength. Of course, being a member of the third squad and all, Hitomi had to take that chance to make a quip before she continued. "I honestly don't think you can handle everything I have, Lord Captain. I certainly have a lot you see, I have me, I have Captain Sairou, I have Captain Stelevein, indeed, were I to throw everything I have at you, you would be overwhelmed far too quickly! But I shall... step it up a notch...." Of course the line was delivered with a smile, but that's not all the Lieutenant does before she continues.
"Reach into the heavens and strike down the cosmos, Masamune!" There was a slight empathsis on the name of her verdant zanpakuto, but the thing that one would focus their attention to is how the wind itself seems to gather around Hitomi after having stated her incantation. "I'm lifting the restrictions of this match, I will fight you the way the 3rd squad taught me how." She states as she sheathes her blade and takes an iaido stance in preparation for her next series of attacks.
Moments after, Hitomi disappears from the spot, reappearing briefly somewhere else and sending a razor-thin shockwave from her blade at the Kuchiki Captain, not stopping there, she repeats the process of disappearing, moving to another area and sending another shockwave at the captain a multitude of times before stopping right in front of where-ever he may be and casting Enkosen on her arm, with which she charges the captain with, hoping to knock him off balance with the golden shield.
